Should I Leave The Loveless Marriage

March 25, 2015 by Milstein Siegel

If you are reading this, you know what I am talking about. Some call it living as roommates. Some know how and when the marriage turned into something different. Some do not. But everyone agrees that right now, it is a marriage in name only.

So, you are confronted with the following dilemma. Do I stay in a loveless marriage and maintain the financial lifestyle I have. Perhaps by staying in the marriage, I can provide and be there more for my children. I know finances will be worse upon divorce, and I am afraid of how I will be able to get by. I don’t want my kids away from me, but if I leave the marriage, my spouse will at least get visitation, so I will not see my kids as much.

If any of this describes you, then just know that you are not alone. People make the decision every single day to stay in a loveless marriage for one reason or another.

Perhaps you have already spoken to a counselor, therapist, clergy, family and/or friends and received the advice they have to give. Just remember that while they love you and support you, they do not always know all of the options available to you.

Meeting with a divorce attorney does not always mean you will get a divorce. Highly experienced divorce attorneys, like Harry Siegel at Milstein Siegel, provide you with a thorough education, a wealth of information, as well as your options for both staying in your marriage or leaving it.

When it comes to making a decision of this magnitude, do yourself a favor and get the best education you can get, so that you can make an informed decision.
